You want to join GATE?

That is great news

GATE has three levels of membership and, depending on your desired membership level, there is information may you need to prepare in advance of starting the application process. GATE provides professional recognition so we do require you to submit evidence online while applying to demonstrate your knowledge and experience. If we don't receive this we are unable to accept your application and you will still be charged the membership fee.

Take a look at the process below which will help you prepare your application. Further details on the GATE member levels are available here.

For the best application experience we strongly recommend you use a computer rather than a mobile device.

Coming soon

GATE is in the process of becoming a Professional Affiliate of the Society for Operations Engineers (SOE) and if all goes to plan, we will shortly be able to benefit from the resources of SOE.

What does this mean?

Extra value and convenience for you!

We have worked closely with SOE to ensure that the GATE Competences for full Members are fully aligned with the Competences of both the Engineering Council (UK) (EngC) and the Society for the Environment (SocEnv). The principle advantage will be our ability to register you as members of both these professional bodies.

This means at the same time as applying for MGATE, prospective Members need just one application* through GATE to also apply for professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and / or a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).

* Note: further professional registrations will incur additional membership fees.

The Global Association for Transition Engineering (GATE) is a UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and a Registered Charity No.1166048
