Associate (AGATE) application guidance

1. Choose Associate - £25.00 (GBP) as your membership level from the list provided to begin registration. The information we require is similar for all levels of membership, but to become an Associate we do require information about your experience in the form of your CV, qualifications and evidence of any activities you participate in that support the aims of Transition Engineering.
   
   
2. Provide your email address - this is the principle way we will communicate with you. A password to log-in to the My GATE members area will be sent to this email address after the whole application process is complete. It will be sent from membership[at]transitionengineering.org - please check your spam/junk mail folder. 
   
   
3. Complete your personal details and communication preferences. Note that if you elect not to be contacted by GATE then we are unable to inform you of events and opportunities related to Transition Engineering. We will still contact you in relation to your GATE membership e.g. for renewals.

4. Associate membership is a professionally recognised achievement. Therefore as part of your application we do require confirmation of your engagement with Transition Engineering.
   Evidence can be proof of study in a appropriate field, any relevant qualifications you hold, and/or a demonstration of your level of experience and engagement with sustainability and the principles of Transition Engineering. We will happily review whatever information you feel is suitable in supporting your application e.g. an image of your student ID card (showing your full name), qualification certificates, your CV outlining your experience (with references) or details of volunteer work that you undertake (again with references).
   Evidence will be reviewed to ensure you fulfil the criteria to use the AGATE post-nominal. Your membership will be made live when approval is granted and you have paid the membership fee.
   
   
5. Payment for Associate membership will be requested before you submit your application. We accept payment via PayPal or direct bank transfer.
   
   
6. Your application to GATE will be confirmed via email, however you will not become an Associate member (or be able to use the AGATE post nominal) until we have reviewed the your submitted information and Associate membership payment is confirmed.
   You will receive a second email within 5 working days providing you with your GATE membership number and confirming your membership to GATE.
   
   
7. The membership application fee is not refundable.
   When your application is successful, the fee will become your recurring subscription which will be renewable annually. You will be notified by email at the time of renewal.
   In the case that your application is unsuccessful we will provide feedback so you can re-submit. No additional payment will be needed. In the meantime we will register you as an Affiliate so that you can keep in touch.
